Well, what I haven't been up to is updating the website. Time flies fast and other stuff takes priority. Lots has happened in the last 4 years. Hobbies and photography style have changed. New challenges set and on the list is to update the site regularly. Even if no-one reads this :-)
It's not often you get to see someone so iconic of an era in your home town, but that's what we had the pleasure of on Saturday 27th April. Even better, I got to take photos from the side of the stage. Equipped with ear plugs (thank you husband) I felt like I could've reached out and touched Mr Foxton. I got more photos than I thought I would and I am still grinning when I look through them. I can't imaging how surreal the experience must have been for my other half, standing 10 ft away from the man who inspired him to pick up a bass guitar when he was 16. Tonight I've been braving the cold and trying to capture a balloon bursting. I'm hoping to have the technique mastered for a new class at Astley High School in Jan 2013. I think I have a long way to go and I need to do some more research. I'm trying to do this with minimum equipment as I know that potential students probably won't have access to remote triggers. I don't either. It isn't easy to get the timing right. I've been holding a speedlite and a remote shutter release in one hand while prodding the balloon with a pin taped to the end of a stick. One bucket of balloons later and this is the result. I might try it with a balloon filled with milk or coloured water. Thanks for looking. More to follow. Well, last week was the last class for 2012 at Astley and I just wanted to say thanks guys. Hope you had as much fun as I did. I'm putting a schedule together for a 'Creative Photography for Beginners'
Just did my Presidents night talk/show/presentation and it seemed to go ok. I don't think my mind works the same as others. :
Just finished editing photos from the Get Carter Gig and Gasoline Junkies. Wish bands wouldn't use red and yellow lights!
Sorted some photos. Hope this works and I can link it to
Almost time for bed. Yesterday was spent cheering my sister on in the Northumberland Swim Challenge. 1500m. Very proud to say that she came 4th amongst the girls.
Again Well, last weekend was spent dodging floods and rain to provide support for my sister, brother, sister-in-law and their friend Joyce who were competing in the Wall Ultra Run, Carlisle to Gateshead Baltic Quays over two days. Fab weekend, despite the weather. So proud of the 'Steppe Sisters'. Got a few good photos for their records and have only just finished sorting and editing the other 500 of the other runners. Race details here http://www.thewallrun.com/ I'll link my facebook page with the photos tomorrow. Bed now. |
