Tonight I've been braving the cold and trying to capture a balloon bursting. I'm hoping to have the technique mastered for a new class at Astley High School in Jan 2013. I think I have a long way to go and I need to do some more research. I'm trying to do this with minimum equipment as I know that potential students probably won't have access to remote triggers. I don't either.
It isn't easy to get the timing right. I've been holding a speedlite and a remote shutter release in one hand while prodding the balloon with a pin taped to the end of a stick.
One bucket of balloons later and this is the result.
I might try it with a balloon filled with milk or coloured water.
Thanks for looking. More to follow.
